Born in Canton, China. David Lee was urged by his father to enter the field of medicine and being the respectful son, be majored in medical studies for three years even though he had an insatiable passion to paint. His professional career as an artist began when he struck a bargain with his father - if he could win the prestigious Chinese National Painting Competition, his father would honor his wishes. He won the competition at the unprecedented age of 22 and is deemed the number one artist in China.

David Lee's paintings are difficult to categorize. He is a master of technique combining Eastern and Western traditions in harmony with nature. His luminous, dimensional images are instantly recognizable and he is unquestionably one of the world's most popular artists.

David Lee  makes his home in Hong Kong. Over the past thirty years, he has exhibited his 'work in numerous one man shows throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia and his private, corporate, public and museum collections are extensive. He publishes his own fine art limited editions.
